His legacy
A very Special delivery who will be loved and missed forever!

Eddie was a full term baby ,he weighed 8lbs. at birth. I had a very fast delivery, I left my house at 8:30 a.m. and he was born at 9:36 a.m., He was very blue and swollen and I know in my heart alot of this could have been prevented, had the doctor not taken it in his own hands and try to slow things down with forceps and throwing gas on me when his head was already 1/4 of the way out.Anyway Eddie was diagnosed with Microcephaly (small Head) and severe to moderate retardation. We took him home and things just kept getting worse he cried constantly around the clock for the first eight months off and on and he would get very stiff,I thank God for my mom who took shifts with me when going through all this, with out her I could have not got through it.Eddie was Nanny`s heart!I finally got him in John F.Kennedy Institute for a second opinion and sure enough he had Cerebral Palsy which is a muscle disorder, and the reason Eddie cried so much was he constantly had muscle spasms,we spent 8 weeks there and when we came home Eddie was a completely different baby, they started him on medications to relax the muscles and it really helped he began to laugh and smile. He ate by mouthin the begining... (mash potatoes with gravy was his favorite... He drank a bottle and loved his pacifer! Then the day came we were in and out of hospitals , he began having siezures, lost control of his swallowing muscles and could not eat by mouth anymore,we kept trying but Eddie would suck it into his lungs,he ended up with one lung infection after another 12 in one yearI started tube feeding through a NG Tube which I had to learn to put down his little nose and had to switch from side to side every 3 days, oh how we hated that... eventually his little nose got so irritated ,he had a GT tube inserted into his little belly surgically.Eddie went through an Interior Postterior spine fussion which was a 15 hour surgery, he had hip replacement with metal plates just one surgery after another,I could probably write a book in his 14 years of life of what he went through so I will just say that with all he went through Eddie was the most Bravest,Happiest little boy on earth, he touched the life of everyone who knew him.We will Cherish his memories forever! We Love and Miss EDDIE BOY with all our Heart!

I feel very Blessed to have been sent my very special child!

I have enclosed a POEM below thats says it all about Eddie Boy. Please read it.

Heaven`s Very Special Child

A meeting was held quite far from Earth
" It`s time again for another Birth,"
Said the Angels to the Lord above,
" This Special Child will need much Love."

His progress may seem very slow,
Accomplishments he may not show
And he`ll require extra care
From the Folks he meets down there.

He may not run or laugh or play,
His thoughts may seem quite far away,
In many ways he won`t adapt
And he`ll be known as Handicapped.

So lets becareful where he is sent,
We want his life to be content,
Please Lord, find the Parents who
Will do a Special Job for you.

They will not realize right away
The leading role they`re ask to play,
But with this child sent from above
Comes stronger Faith and Richer Love.

And soon they`ll know the priviledge given
In caring for this Gift from Heaven,
Their Precious child, so meek and mild
Is Heaven`s very Special Child......

In Remembrance ~ May 5,1981 ~ October 8,2006
If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane
We would walk right up to Heaven
and bring you back again

No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why

Our hearts still ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one will ever know

But know we know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store

Since you'll never be forgotten
We pledge to you today
A hallowed place within or hearts
Is where you'll stay

We will always love you!
Daddy,Mommy,(your sisters & Brother-in-law)Megan,
Rochelle, Rob, your (niece & nephew)Brianna and Robby

We will never forget you Eddie boy!

Don`t think of him as gone away
